October 2024

It’s the time of year when most trapshooters in Utah have put their guns away for the season. Ogden Gun Club does have an October shoot, and there will be the occasional turkey shoot just around the corner.

Other shoots to look forward to are the Nevada State Shoot (Las Vegas) and the Autumn Grand in Tucson.

The All American Teams have been announced. Utah faired quite well, with seven shooters among the elite. They are Sean Hawley, Britt Dalton, Leslie Hight, Pam Wright, Grayson Stuart, Scott Syme and, Craig Hart. Congratulations to all of our All Americans.

Unfortunately, we recently lost several of
our friends; Carol Ford Passed away on
August 19, 2024, while in Alaska.  Carol
was married to Doug Ford and was the
mother of Leslie Hight. The Ford family
has been a big part of trapshooting in
Utah for quite a few years, especially in
the Spanish Fork area.

Fred Bentley from Brigham City, Utah. Fred has been a past president of the Golden Spike Gun Club and has helped run the ATA events held there.

My condolences go out to families and friends.
